My son is adopted....so technically I guess he's considered illegitimate. But the man he knows as Dad & I were married when we adopted him!
It's all in the interpretation....
The only thing I'm doing to my child is raising him w/ all the love I possibly can in hopes he will grow into a good man. You know, like one who doesn't put labels on people.
I pity the ignorant person who ever calls him that name.-)

A child born out of wedlock, or to a couple who were not married in a way recognized by the civil authorities. Under common law, if the parents later married one another, the child was legitimatized. At the request of the mother or the authorities, an identified father could be compelled to provide for the child’s support. A bastard child, even if acknowledged, could not inherit from the father.

Bastard means child born out of wedlock. Wedlock means that a child is born into the world with the parents not married. Per say my friend is considered a 'bastard" Because her parents were not married when she was born. and no i don't have kids to do that to. And I wouldn't do that anyways.

I'm not doing it to my children, I was married to their father.
That's a very old term, not used today as it was then.
If it has to be used, then we should call the parents Bastards, they are the ones bringing the children into this world. They are the ones making the choice to have children out of wedlock.

The literal bastard is a child born out of wedlock and thus does not inherit or otherwise benefit from the legal status of his parents' marriage; a metaphorical bastard is one who acts as if he/she has nothing to lose and thus flaunts social standards and is generally annoying or worse.
Your grandchildren may be the former, which is none of our collective business; you certainly demonstrate the latter by your rhetorical rants. You have my pity, not my sympathy.

Bastard: Child born out of wedlock. My third child is a bastard child, and a son at that, we've learned to make a joke out of this word, and if anyone ever calls him a bastard, he can honestly reply with: "Yes I am, thank you, and proud of it", just don't call me a "son of a *****" !! LOL

Bastard simply means born out of wedlock. And am I doing what to my children. I have two grandchildren born out of wedlock and they are both loved as much as any other child. And no-one will ever call them that name and get away with it.

A bastard is a child concieved when the parents are not married or not married to each other, and I think it's a stupid thing to say. Who cares if they were married at the time of conception. As long as both parents love them and do their best by them.

what is your issue? why do you preach hate?
that is what the term bastard is. How is it wrong for two people to have a child out of wedlock if they love that child? If a man takes off and doesn't help the woman raise their child, how is it right to punish the child by socially ostracising her/him?

If you don't know what bastard means and you're using the term in your other questions you are as ignorant as you sound.
