Can't she just get over this 'oh i'm sooooo controversial' gimmick? She really needs to come out with something more original for the sake of her 'art', because we've seen this garbage before. It wasn't cute then, it isn't cute now---specially when it is coming from some clapped-out, 40+ entertainer.

I don't think she knows how to get out of that controversial gimmick. That's all she's ever done. I am not a Madonna fan, a couple songs are okay, but that's about it.
Yea she looks great an all that, but come on, get over it.
Also, supposedly she doesn't let her kids watch tv. Well I hope she doesn't let them read mags either.. I guess she doesn't want thme to read about mummy and the weird things she does.

I saw this tour opening night. I am a hard core catholic. I am a hard core madonna fan. When i heard the rumors of this cross bit i was furious. I thought it was trashy and unnecessary.
BUT.
When i saw it i changed my mind completly. a lot of people ar etaking it out of context. Yes she is on a cross but she is doing it while images of orphaned children in Africa palys on the video screen.
The number with the cross is Live to Tell, a suprisingly poignaint ballad, it is introed with confessions by her dansers relating to child abuse and self mutilation.
It ends with the bible verse that stats "when i was hugry you gave me food...what you do to the least of me you do unto me"
It was gorgous and is not a slap in the face of christianity unless you don't look at the whole picture.

Although it is only entertainment and I dont think she actually trying to offend anyone with her stunts, does anyone still even want to hear her sing. She is a 47 year old mom who has lost whatever talent she did have. Get over it honey, your time is up!!!

I think it's tacky but it's also given her the attention she seems to crave. I agree that she needs to come up with something else - she should stick to singing and stop trying to shock people. The pics of her singing on her cross with a "crown of thorns' was pointless.

Well... I don't see what is offensive about it, she's milking the publicity for all it's worth, plain & simple! I certaintly don't think she intended to offend the pope or anything, just to hopefully generate more tix sales.

i think Madonna needs to get into a bunch of trouble. she's basicaly slapping the christians in the face. she's a jew so she's basically making fun of those who arn't and those who see Christ as our savior.
