In the US, its legality is determined by the state. Nevada is the only state where it is no wlegal -- and only in counties with small populations (which is why it is illegal in Reno and Las Vegas).
It is actually legal in most countries. The best way to find out is to do an internet search using the phrase "legal prostitution"

I'm Italian and in Italy prostitution is criminalized and known as "sfruttamento della prostituzione"..... in Germany and in Nederlands Prostitution is legal but only in "specialized houses"...

It's legal in Sweden.
I once went to a website based around prostituion in other countries try googleing thw World Sex Book or Guid or something, it's blue and white background.
