Yup.
After you vac, and you see algae anywhere in the pool, give it a brush. This gets it upinto the water column and also exposes it better to your chlorine, killing it faster. The addition of a polyquat algaecide will also speed up the process.
If you have a dose of algae right now, I suggest you take a water sample into your local pool shop and have it anaylized. I'll bet a beer that your water isn't balanced and at the very least, your free avaliable chlorine is next to nothing.

better to do that than to let it remain there and stain the vinyl! Just make sure you have the right amount of chemicals in the water to kill the algae when it goes into the water!

I was doing this last night. You want to throw shock in the pool and then check the PH.

You need to get some Algaecide. After appling the chemicals turn the filter on so that it circulates the water.
