I thought it would be a kind of Indian language but then why is their english on this page? (sorry for my american ingnorence lolo)

I would like to let you know that India is a Big country with 28 states and seven Union territories
In most of the states there is a regional language for example
Assam -Assamese
Bengal - Bengali
Maharashtra - Marathi
Gujarat- Gujarati
Kashmir- kashmiri
But the language which is most common and spoken in all states is HINDI
after Hindi the Language which is common is English
the constitution of India is in Hindi & english

English is the most spoken languge. After that it may be Hindi??? Telugu, Marathi and Tamil come next. Learn English to reach the developed parts of India like Tamil Nadu, Punjab, AP, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat and get developed.

as one of the person answered correctly as HINDI being a national language.but i heard mostly ENGLISHIS SPOKEN ..IN ALL NEWS READING IT HAPPENED TO BE ENGLISH .EACH HAS ITS OWN MERIT/BUT FOR THE NATION WE SAY HINDI
