Diet soda is full of sodium, so you are retaining water. I've also heard that our bodies react to fake sugar like real sugar and, and so you really won't loose weight.

Diet soda is just like regular soda, just without all of the sugar.
It still has all of the sodium and stuff like that.
Just because it says it doesn't have calories and sugar, doesn't mean it's healthier for you.
Yes, it is better than regular soda.
And no, it doens't make you lose or gain weight.

A good diet pop to drink if you don't want to retain water weight due to sodium is Diet Rite. It comes in different flavors and has 0 sodium. But all pop can play havoc on your digestive system and stomach and is not good for you. I like a can once and a while and try to go with the sodium free brands.
