I was thinking of going to some place with my brother.
What is a decent budget plan for two to a place near new delhi. I had a budget of about INR Rs. 5000-7000.
A couple of places that come to my mind are Leh, Vaishno Devi, Mussoorie, Simla, Uttarkashi.
What would you suggest? I was looking at a couple of plans at makemytrip.com and they have plans for Leh & Vaisno Devi.
How about Goa? But, it would be too far from delhi & would just increase the expenditure. Is it worth it?
What holiday plan would you recommend for us two brothers that is not too far away from delhi that is not too heavy on the expenses? :)
Should I plan my trip using a web portal like makemytrip.com, go directly to a travel agent or should We just go on our own and make our own arrangements as we travel?

Already news are pouring in that the areas like Shimla, Mussorie, Vaishno Devi are overbooked for the said weekend, I don't know whether you would enjoy in such a situation. Leh is far off and may exceed your budget. Uttarkashi could be a workable option.
Alternatively, you may explore Rajasthan areas. Though Monsoon is current in the whole region, yet Rajasthan beyond Jaipur could be explored. Jodhpur, Udaipur, Mount Abu and other neighbouring areas could be alternate options, particularly keeping in mind your number of days and budget.
You may also go to Lucknow and Ayodhya, may be Kanpur also if the city interests you to explore.

Try going to Manali. Manali is much better than Shimla. If you are looking forward for a relaxing hoilday, then Manali is the best place to be. Try booking a room in the Himachal Pradesh's Tourism development co-operation's resort.By the way, do not book through websites. They promise you the best facilities. But you end up being duped 90% of the time. I have heard lots of bad experiences on website bookings. But before you leave make sure you have room reservation.
