Get a few pounds of rock salt.

Spread it around the tree bottom, and water liberally... The tree will die in no time at all!

cut it down - the amount of herbicide required would affect other neighbouring plants. A dead tree is an unstable tree that may fall into your greenhouse or next door's garden injuring someone.

why do you want to kill it. It's a food source for birds if you dont want the berries. Why not just hack it right back and then keep its growth controlled.
