China with it's almost over buring economy and infrastructure led development does seem to be out right winner in terms of growth potential. China has a lot to its name, the resources, the man power and the determination of the people to succeed inspite of all the hurdles. The government almost has vice like grip over the people, sometimes this is not a bad thing, reforms are quickly planned out and implemented, on thehuman rights issues and security of the poorer lot, there is a lot China has to answer, but they seem to be very decidedly setting forth on their plans for the future. This future that China envisages is one in which it would in all likelihood be the number one power.

I doubt any one country will take over the world, but I doubt China has the biggest army in the world and never plans on using it for anything. They did help invade South Korea once.

No. No one power can literally take over the world. There are just too many people who dislike one another to make ruling them easy. The former Yugoslavia is testament to what would happen if one power tried to take over a collective of different people.

China is the most populated nation in the world by density. But I think you might be refering to Japan. They are living in the year 3500(that is a joke). They even have artificial intelligence.China is simply a comunist nation who is constantly trying to get thier citizens to reform to thier standards of living. If anything, they will try and regain Taiwan.

I don't think it will take them 50 years, more like 20.
