I went to register my son for school last week and noticed this girl in the 6th grade very much pregnant... What the hell is going on in this world, that these kids feel the need to have sex and then end up pregnant..Dont they realize sex is for mature people? Im not a prude or anything but why would kids want to throw their entire child hood away for one night of pleasure and in the 6th grade I wouldnt think they would know what pleasure is. Why cant kids be kids and leave the mature adult stuff to the adults??

wow a 6th grader damn i got my first period in the 5th grade. i too beleive that that is too young. but as for my self. i got preg. when i was 15 had her at 16. i am now 19. and i love my baby girl so much she is the world to me. but i was very mature. if i could turn back time yes i think i would have had her any way. i am married and we have been together for 6 years. and we are happy. looking at her smile is more important then haveing a child hood my self. i just love watching her have a child hood and yes i am going to do every thing in my power to make sure she does have a good child hood and a long one. And to hear her say "i love you mommy" it is a gift to hear her voice, to hear her laugh, and to see her beautiful smile. but yeah 6th grade is a little to young. good luck and take care.

true. I ask myself this question why why, and i dont even know they know how to have sex or what pleasure is and much more important they have no idea what taking care of a child is like. at 12 what the hell do u know ?im 22 what the hell do i know, i think im a bad mother as it is, as hard as i try and as mature as i think i am motherhood is a challenge, hopefully that kid won't end up like the mom. u know both of their lives don't have a so good outlook, the baby will always be at grandma's and the kid is gonna have a life like she doesnt have a kid, partying, clubbing, having more sex, not being responsible. but again she's like 12 what the hell does she know. I hope her parents are strict from now on.

I totally agree, and the answer is more supervision and education. You're 11 or 12 in the 6th grade, and at that age, your parents aren't thinking you're going to be experimenting with sex, and neither do schools. They see pregnant 6th Graders as isolated cases, and still do not educate their children or students.

Educate children. There are more and more cases all the time of very young girls getting pregnant.. I don't think at 11 and 12 they're really aware of the risks and dangers.. you can't be held accountable for a murder if you're 12.. how can you be responsible enough to go through your childhood uneducated about the dangers and risks of sex?

At this age, they see it as pleasureable and fun, because they're "too young" for their parents and schools to teach them about the risks. Education is the key.

It bothers me a lot, too. The main thing I can come up with is that many kids are just not being supervised enough or taught that sex needs to involve maturity in mind, not just physical readiness and/or desire!

Also, some young girls aren't receiving the love/attention they require from parents and search for that "missing" love in unhealthy ways.

Perhaps in sex education in schools, which I truly believe in (I work at a high school myself), an added focus needs to be on readiness (maturity, consequences of one's actions). I am sure that it is already included, but maybe even more emphasis should be stressed.

Things dat r goin on or have gone i believe causes young people to act in this manner. Most of the time they feel neglected or cared/loved for so they go to find it in the wrong direction.

I know what you mean. I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want to have unsafe sex when they aren't married, especially at that age. Maybe I'm old fashioned...

it's a crazy world. They don't think before they do. I'm sure the kid regrets it a million times over.
