Reason number one why I didn't put a pool up this year...until this month anyway cuz it got so hot...last year...we got a pool and could never ever keep it nice and clean whatever we did...

so this year we cleaned it all out with a pressure washer...completely cleaned it out...

And then we bought from walmart...for like $6 a floater thingie in the pool section and then you buy those chlorine tablets...for like $8 a good size container...pool section again. :) And that is totally working and it is so nasty hot and sunny here...

I put and make sure that there is 3 tablets in there every single day and we have one of those smaller blue pools from Walmart...the round ones with the blow up ring...

That works well.

Good luck!

Shock it first.. then use Algaecide and Clarifier.. read directions it is so many ounces per gallons of water.. Shock your pool at least once a week and add the Algaecide and Claifier weekly..
I have an above ground pool and do this weekly and have a clear, no green tent pool.. also use your Chlorine tablets..
Hope this helps..

You may need to shock the pool, but check the chemical levels first.
(1) make sure you PH is at a good level
(2)check your chlorine level
(3)have you added stabilizer?
***(4)clean the filter***
If these things check out and you still have a problem, take a sample in a jar to your pool supply store and let them check it out. ( when you get a sample don't just dip the surface. get deep - past the elbow) ****you should clean the filter first so you don't waste the chemicals***

If you live near a good pool store, you can take in a bottle of water from your pool and they will completely test it. That way you will not be paying out a lot of money trying too many different things.

Add some shock to the pool make sure the PH level is good. The high clorination in shock will kill the algae (green) in the pool.

Get your water chemistry balanced, clean out your filter, shock the bejezus out of it (triple normal dose), fill up your puck dispenser and turn it on high, and add a good quality algaecide (poly quat).
The next day, vac up the dead algae and repeat as needed. Keep those sanitizer levels up until the green monster is gone.

I would start by properly identifying the problem. Have the water tested to be sure it's not algae. If you are sure it isn't algae, it could be a metal issue or even too much chlorine. (chlorine can turn your water green if you are using cheap chemicals) Also, talk to your local pool supply. They may know of some other issue particular to your area.

That's algae. You just need some chlorine in there!

Just go to Home Depot and get some "shock". It's a powder that you toss into the water at different intervals. It helps kill the algae

you most likly have algie growing in your pool

get algeside from the store----if you have a walmart near you, it tends to be cheaper there,

Also there is a product you can get called "alge-stop" some of the bigger walmarts carry this--as well as pool stores----this helped alot to save our pool from the green stuff, it also will provent alge from growing if you put a few onces in once a week----or an ounce or two in if it looks like rain,

hope this helped

good luck
