Put them into your recycling folder just before you shutdown. Then restart the computer and do everything you did before and see if everything's still OK. Most likely you'll be OK.
If confirmed that everything's working fine, empty your recycling bin. 5 GB might be too big for the recycling bin, so do it one file at a time.

It should be safe to delete the file, provided the program that created it is closed. If that program is still accessing the file or needs to access the file and its deleted externally, it may give unexpected results. If you are able to identify the program which is leaving the tmp file behind, you may want to report a defect against the product.

Totally agree. When you install some programs, Including Windows itself, it will creat the .tmp file but I have deleted it many times. If you are still uncertain, run disk cleanup and it will safely tell you if the can be deleted. Start-->programs-->Accessories-->system tools--> Disk Cleanup.

yeah u can delete all *.tmp files since they are just temp files.
i would advise using something like diskcleanup from start all programs accessorires, system tools.

yes it should be safe to delete them. Sounds like these are video files that got downloaded. Some directories in the temp directory are used by install progams and deleting those can lead to undelete problems.

better then you manually deleting the files try using softwares as super cleaner , window washer so on. if you want to manually delete them you well can except some files that has been used by your system at the moment.

Yes it is absolutely safe to delete them.
Just make sure they are in the Temp folder in drive c:
Once your sure about it just go ahead and delete them.
