Will i be stuck with an extra phone line when i switch over to Sprint from Nextel or any other service?

No, just switch your number to your new carrier.
If you've signed a 2 year contract and you're cancelling early, you might have to pay a penalty/

Not if your old contract has ended, they you can take your phone number with you. Oh, and Nextel is owned by Sprint.

If your contract isn't up you will pay around $200.00 per phone to change to another service.
