Hmmm... one reason.. is the sun is so much brighter than stars in the daytime... another reason.. is those below the equator are not visible from the northern hemisphere... hmmmm.. other than that.. we see stars quite well.. oh... unless you live in a city with LOTS of lights on all the time... and some cities are now making laws about "light pollution"

What do you mean? You CAN see stars from the USA.
Edit: Even in the most light polluted cities, there are some stars visible at night if one pays attention.

If you mean from the cities, it is becasue of the light pollution.
the more lights you leave on at the street level, the less of the sky you can see.
