Its a very intellectually stimulating game, and if you pit two opponents with similar intellect (but different strategies) against one another, you cannot be guaranteed a certain outcome. Its the road to the victory that is fun - not who wins or loses.
I learned to play chess from my father, and he was an excellent teacher.
However, it is harder and harder these days to find anyone who cares to sit for a couple hours and play a good game of chess.

It's OK but I know of a better game, simpler to play, but just as good a test of the mind. The game is called Hex and can be found on-line and is a real good test of look ahead abilities. Also the game can be played on different sized boards, and so you can play short or long games, the bigger boards taking longer.

Yes, It is a language on to it's own like music, multiple-skills, fun game for two opponents. The protagonist, antagonist, and the observer or watcher all of whom become involved with the interaction and ratings in a competitive, strategic activity.

Best game ever. How could a game that has been around for centuries not be a great game?
