It's not that it's rude, but if you are going to a great steak house; not Sizzler; their meat should be flavorful on it's own. That said, it's your taste & money, so ask nicely & don't worry about it.

This depends upon the steak house. In a restaurant where they have a patented seasoning blend for their steaks, it's better to try it before automatically putting a sauce on it. A good quality steak that is cooked medium or under with the right seasonings may need nothing, while a tougher cut cooked medium well or above at a lower-end steak house may benefit from the extra flavor.

As a guest at a restaurant, it is your right to ask for whatever you need to make your food and your dining experience more enjoyable for YOU. Ignore snobbish servers that try to put you on a guilt trip for requesting steak sauce.

It's not exactly rude, but it insinuates that the steak is not good enough on its own. In areas where preparing steak is an art form, you really shouldn't need sauce. My son-in-law was recently at a nice steak house in the Chicago area and when he asked for sauce, the waiter said, "Trust me -- the steaks here are so good you won't need the sauce." My son-in-law replied, "I'm from Texas. Trust me -- I'll need the sauce!"

I didn't know it was rude. Steak sauce on your steak is your preference. If they do consider it rude it's because you are insulting their steak. When you need steak sauce that means the steak is lacking in flavor.

Not rude, but a good steak shouldn't need any.

Start by trying your steak first. Then again, even before that, don't order it cooked any more than medium. After that, you might as well eat a shoe.

It's not rude. It just means their steaks are too dry and you need some sauce to eat it.

probably no longer. i did not comprehend what a "blue steak" changed into till I study your question and Googled it. apparently it may be elderly a week(no longer sparkling off the cow), and at room temperature, then seared for style of a minute each area in a really warm pan, so the the interior remains raw(twitching?). As contact with air contaminates it, see you later because the outdoors is cooked the interior remains sterile. that is why it gained't be minced beef till you're very certain it really is been prepared lower than sterile circumstances. I desire uncommon or medium uncommon steak yet could ought to attempt a "blue" steak even with each thing this study. there's a football membership in Wollongong NSW(Collegians) that has a $5.50 lunch particular daily except Sunday(astounding value) and the Wednesday particular is steak. I surely have tried to reserve mine medium uncommon, yet were instructed that each man or woman steaks are cooked medium properly, without exception. even as i tried to have this replaced on the AGM i changed into unsuccessful(no gourmets on the board!). therefore I surely have stopped ordering the steak on Wednesdays. BTW Elton John's music "i wager it truly is why they call it the blues could incredibly be talked about as "i do not comprehend why they call it the blues" as he in no way explains why.

You may always ask for a steak sauce for your steak. Its like asking for catsup for french fries. Its like asking for plain oil and vinegar for a salad or lemon for your tea.
