Well, perhaps the best place to get the coolest ideas of nice catchy advertisements is from newspapers and magazines. Well, if you really want some real good technique writing some good advertisements then I would suggest that you should search some Advertising agencies on Google. That will help you in a way.

Hitler said "the great masses of the people would sooner fall victim to a big lie than to a small one" The Bible says: 2Ti 4:3 For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, 2Ti 4:4 and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. So essentially, yes someone would believe you as nowadays two things are believed > truth and outrageous lies.

Just got out and buy a magazine and let 'er rip.

I have a degree in Desktop Publishing and there are different elements to look for in a print ad:

*font (type of lettering)
*colors (cool, warm, bright, dark, etc.)
*alignment of objects (center, right, left, etc)

What's a more interesting topic is what doesn't make an ad work, my favorite being a busy background making it hard to read the copy itself.

iPod commercials. They're modern, and definitely catch the consumer's eye.
