Cat. Having a friendship with a dog is like being followed by the local town drunk. He's only doing it because he happened to see you first. Dogs tend to be slobbering buckets of unconditional and generally uninteresting love. Cats, however, seem far more like little people. They can be slighted, and they don't fall so charmingly easily into your lap. If a cat loves you, you know it's for how you act and how you are. You have to work to earn a friendship, on both ends.

That's like a really hard question. I have 1 cat and one dog. And cats are like more cuttley and cute. While dogs on the other hand usually is begging for food and is very playful and dogs are always killing or finding dead animal I live in the country so my dog is always getting dirty and getting chickens and rabbits and who knows what. But I feel alot safer around my dog.
So as hard as this might be I choose........

Dogs take more care and work. They are NOT self-reliant. Cats, are VERY self-reliant. Aside from the litter pan, they require less work and care. The trade off is, they are somewhat cranky creatures, with a mind of their own. *shrugs* If you're going to be home a lot, go with a dog. If you're going to be out more often than not, go with the cat.

Definitely dogs. While I love all animals in general, when it comes to dog or cat, I'd choose a dog. Dogs are loyal, loving, faithful..and truly man's best friends!
Cats are cuddly and all but if you ask me, they're too proud for my liking. There's something about them...snobbishly scary.
