So today we are warned of another rise in petrol/diesel prices. Not this time attributed to the conflict with Israel/Hisbollah, nor Irans threat to cut supplies over the row with their nuclear ambitions, No this one is due to a major leak in a pipeline owned by BP bringing supplies from Alaska. Earlier today a BP spokesman went into detail saying that the problems were due to severe corrosion on the pipeline. Well BP make enormous profits running into billions every year so why wasnt the pipeline properly maintained & why now has the public got to pay more because of it. Its a complete & utter disgrace, and even when the pipeline is repaired the prices wont come back down again ..... once they go up they stay up. Dont know about you but i've had about as much as I can take of this sort of thing......What say you?

If everyone stopped using BP petrol for a week, they would soon drop their prices ! All it needs is a bit of organising, say something along the lines of a forum, or even a site that gets alot of hits, nudge, nudge, wink, wink, and you have it ! Over to you my friend !

And gas companies will keep getting away with it because of the majority attitude among people who use the most fuel.

Moms who tote their kids around in the back of SUV's with DVD players to lull the kids into submission. God forbid if mom had to take her kids on a public bus. She may have to interact with them!
Commuters who just suck up rate hikes into their expenses and still drive to work alone.
Freight companies who just turn around and up their fees instead of questioning or striking or causing mass mayhem.
Us, the consumers, who really have not busted a move against the hikes, in any way that I am aware of, other than just complaining etc.

Why is nobody lighting their car on fire or physically going down to a gas station and protesting or organizing? Are we really junkies?

i agree!! its an absolute disgrace. the tax on fuel is ludicrous and its about time we stopped being penalised and ripped off by the government. if there were other options readily available i would be the first in the queue to try them out, but until they sell cars powered by water, at a reasonable price im screwed and im stuck pouring my hard earned cash in to an economic black hole. why aren't other countries paying as much tax on fuel as we are??

I concur, but do you own a car??? if so, isn't your gripe hypocritical because I presume you will still be using your car and putting petrol/diesel in it to run.
