A pumpkin is a big orange critter that u use on halloween to scare kids etc..I have never eaten it as i think of it as satanic and i will not be possessed by the pumpkin demon...

strictly speaking its a fruit as it contains seeds but in the kitchen it can be used as both a fruit or a veg. most gardening books will list in the veg section as it is normally grown on veg plot rather than fruit garden
