In comics you see pretty much the same things... Super heroes stoping super villans from conquerieng/destroying the world... this plot is presented in different situations so they trick you into thinking that they are not all the same. Besides almost every comic ends up with good winning with small compromise whatsoever... like the end is just a walk in the park... this is what the asker told me(he is obsesed by comics), but in a more enthusiastic and positive way... I drew the conclusions..
Manga on the other hand have very different plots and more beautiful drawings... the dialogues do indeed suck, but hey... you can't have all of it... Besides, manga have more tragic heroes and in the end they will probably die or make a huge compromise... it's much more emotional.
Manga would probably apear sick or repulsive to some of you. That's because they are not christians and have a different moral code you have to understand that.

Manga has more to explore and are usually more original. They actually have total freedom so they have a wide range for so many tastes from the artistic to the cute to the bizarre to just plain weird. They don't just export a comic, they export culture and philosophy. And they let a good story end like it should most of the time rather than let it continue and stink to high heaven.
Comics have amazing ideas and pretty interesting designs that they mostly stick to spandex or even capes. At least you have to give the teams credit for keeping things going as well as coming up with so many storylines as well as so many backgrounds for their characters that sometimes it's confusing. Also, there is more subtle humor and wit in American/English writing that Japanese don't generally have.
So they both have their good points but I prefer manga. Easier on the wallet.

comics all have a very simmilar plot, so if u read 1 u read them all, the characters are not treated enough on the psychological level, but mangas have diffrent plots and the characters are MUCH MORE complex.
And beacause comics are coloured they don't have enough time to come up with a plausable story-line ( some have a good story-line, but MOST don't), while Mangas take shorter time to draw and the creator has more time to make a more interesting plot.

Geese, I didn't know Manga existed in U.S. I've never seen Manga in English so I don't know whether it is just as good when it is in Japanese-don't think it will be the same, you know... and beside, manga I get tired of easily, but comic books I never do! They've great plotlines(the good 'uns do, anyway) and they are so---fun. You have to choose carefully, though. My personal favorite comics are 'Onepiece", "Piano", "Hikaru no go(which means Hikaru's Baduk)", "Mister Chobap Whang(king)", "Prince of Tennis" and so on, though I assume you won't notice any of them.........pity, since they are real---ly good. (I learned Japanese just to understand these and their dramas kkk)
