It might be, but isn't necesarily a form of OCD. There are people who have a form of this and constantly pluck out their hair.
Because you are concerned, you should mention it to your doctor and definitely don't be embarrassed. He or she has heard worse!
It does sound like a nervous habit, and you may want to look into what is causing the stress or some healthy ways to release it. Exercise is a great way to reduce stress and feel better.
When you think about something a lot and tend to do it more, you have become compulsive about it. The fact that you are hurting yourself is definitely cause to talk to a doctor or therapist. But don't let that worry you(your worrying is making this an obsession!)...and with help, you can get past it.
Good luck.

yes this may stem from some deep psychological issues but at this point its more of a health issue.you are opening yourself up for infections and cancer of the mouth and all sorts of stuff .look when u realize u have a cut in your mouth and u don't want to bite it use a mouth guard, or something else to chew on. you may just have an oral fixation that psychologically stems from your childhood and is currently eating at ur subconscious and u project it on your mouth.

I used to do it (and i sometimes do if I'm really nervous). It's like nail-biting, or hair chewing.
When I notice I am doing it, I just have to remind myself to stop. Sometimes I have to go read, or do something relaxing.
There is probably professional help available for those who just CANT STOP! at all. Luckily, I'm able to just scold myself and quit. Or I end up biting myself really hard and it hurts and I won't do it again. So I have never sought out professional help.
See if you have a Youth for Christ, or a Christ in Youth family center near you. They offer low cost counseling and could help you discover why you bite your mouth.

You have to discipline yourself
in this situation because eventually
it will lead up to serious infection
Perhaps you are hyper and cannot control it
but imagine when you want to eat certain foods and cannot
because you have caused yourself to have all this pain
Perhaps you are into pain and desire it and if you do
it is truly a sickness
Seek help if you yourself cannot stop this action
You need to be well
So take care of yourself honey before this gets really
out of hand and there is no repair

i have been biting my lips and inside my mouth for many years.
I think that it is just a bad habit like biting your nails or something.
i see lots of people doing this when i am walking through the store.
Sometimes people think i am trying to kisss them.

You might be suffering from Obsessive-complusive disorder. Why don't you consult with a doctor about it. Your gash would need medical treatment if you're biting into it.

No, I don't do this. You can go and see a hypnotist. And he can trick your mind into stop chewing on the inside of your mouth. And this is not a false advertisement. They are real doctors and this is thier field of profesion.
