if your baby is thirsty, you give him/her water is the best!
I don't think apple juice can really ease thirst as it's sweet and will only make us more thirsty even it's diluted.
but giving our baby diluted fruit juice at the age of 6 mos is definitely good. i always gave my daughter diluted apple/pear juice when she was 6 mos+, once a day in the morning. she liked it a lot. she never really had any bowel problems. she is now 20 mos, she passes stool once a day. she seldom has constipation and she's been like this since she was a baby.
water is best given anytime..
anytime you feel that your baby is thirsty, just give him/her water.
after milk, you can also give ur baby water.
start building these habits, drinking plenty of water and fruit juice, at their early age.

You can give diluted juice, but make sure it is pasteurized (most juice is) and be sure not to offer more than 3-4 oz per day. If the baby stops taking enough breastmilk/formula then get rid of the juice. However I honestly don't see why you would want to offer juice. Juice isn't terribly good for you, it is horrible for teeth and now is really the time to teach good lifelong eating habits and water is always a far better option than juice. My son is 17 months old and only gets something other than water in his sippy cup 2-3 times a month.

Juices, like apple juice, are very high in sugar. For the most part, infants get all the liquid they need from breastmilk and/or formula. Water is better than juice, and juices tend to loosen their bm's. Too sugary of drinks can cause tooth problems, as well. If you're concerned, talk to a pediatrician. Ask about signs of dehydration.

You can absolutely give them plain water; water is good for everyone. If you want to give him juice, make sure it's at least 3/4 water and 1/4 juice. The taste of pure juice is too sweet for babies, and it's not good for them anyway. If you do start giving him juice, make sure he is still mainly drinking formula and water, which are both much better for his health.

I suggest not introducing juice even if it's diluted. The sweetness will be addicting to your baby and you may have to deal with a crying tantrum when the juice is done. I suggest just giving water. It's a healthier habit that will benefit your baby to his adult life. Besides, too much juice can mess up your baby's bowel movement. Plus, it can promote diaper rash too.

Water is the best, but if you want to give it apple juice it's fine to dilute it. My sisters always diluted apple juice with water.

yes, you can definitely give him water.. Diluted juice is fine, i think you are supposed to start with pear juice. When i dilute juice for my kids i do it at about 20% juice, 80% water.

As long as it is diluted, SOME juice would be OK. Just make sure it isn't replacing formula.

yes you can give them watered down apple juice just not a lot because it will upset their stomach. You can give them water but also not a lot because there is a greater risk of over hydration and babies electolytes are more easily thrown out of wack
