just need to take the drive out and clean it with a damp cloth let it dry and try again. Make sure you get the contacts clean...
Remember it is easier to get another laptop than another kid, stuff happens.

ok talk to me. I can give u the best advice. Primary disk 0 not found means its not seeing the hard drive. Start the computer and look for an option to get into the setup menu (bios). Maybe F12 or del. Then see if you can see the drive in there. If not then theres a problem. Who did you buy the laptop through?
I love all these comments.... How is removing the keys on the keyboard going to make it recognize the hard drive. Come on people dont answer if you dont know what ur talking about...
If the drive isnt recognized the in BIOS, it the drive from the soda. And if you dont know what primary disk drive 0 means i highly recommend you do not attempt to replace the drive yourself. You will be over charged, but its in your best intrest.
i wouldnt listen to any of these people other than me and subdragonzero

ive been in this situation many times when u spill coke over it tears up right then the keys mess up in ways such as if u were to type R it would type 5 or the keys not works at all. this is sometimes fixable but not always all u have to do is take a flat head screw driver and pop out all the keys by getting under then and pushing up. clean around the keys, on the keys and inside the keys. The hard drive probably crashed not uncommon all u need to do is gat a new internal hard drive. you can purchase these at walmart, bestbuy, and many other places. u should get a 100-200 gigabyte hard drive these are more sufficent and about 100 dollars-200. I Hope This Helps.

The only thing that's changed since your incident is that the computer was wet and turned on. Your hard drive did not register, which means that either it is wet, and thus not registering correctly (power or port problems), in which case it should be fine once to take it out and dry it. Removing your hard drive does not void your warranty usually. If you think you'll get anything out of it, call Dell support and ship them your hard drive for a new one. If they're not going for that, buy yourself a new one and install it yourself. The amateurs at Geek Squad, or pretty much anywhere else, will overcharge you for a job that any idiot with thumbs could do.

Do you want help with what you should consider in purchasing a new computer, or help with finding the Geek Squad in your area?
The computer, or at MINIMUM, the hard drive, is ruined. Sorry. If it's the hard drive, be happy - it won't be that expensive to fix...maybe a couple of hundred, including labor for the geek-squad-like-people. If it's something else...well, you're out of luck, hon. You should always flip it over to let the offending moisture drain and dry it out immediately before trying to turn back on. Sorry...that's a bummer.

ii. temporary shorting, which means u have some hope

Your best bet is to:
1. Turn it back off.
2. Let it dry COMPLETELY
3. While waiting, review your homeowner's policy to see if it's covered.
4. Try it after you're sure it's dry. Call Dell service and support if it continues.
5. Never let your son around my computer with liquids.

If you have it still under warranty, you are in luck, just take it to an authorized DELL service center or call them and ask for one.
If you dont have a warranty, your doomed. You most likely having to go to a PC repair shop and pay them $40 dollars to have them try and diagnose the problem and if they can find it ($$$$ for parts) youll have to pay them for parts and labor IF AND ONLY IF YOU AUTHORIZE THEM TO FIX IT, otherwise you are stuck with a dead computer. Probably part of the motherboard is dead...

That may be as simple as a loose connection on the IDE connector. Or as bad as a total hard drive failure. If you are confident in your ability to work on your notebook yourself, then you should check the hard drive connector. Look in BIOS to see if the hard drive is recognized there. Make sure the BIOS has the hard drive listed as a boot device. And finally, you may need to replace the hard drive.

You probably need the keyboard replaced, and it shorted out some of the internal parts. Take it to a tech and have them give you an estimate on what it will cost to fix it.
It's best not to let children have at your laptops.

Unplug the power cord. Remove the battery.
Go outside and hose it down with the laptop open (screen showing).
Put it in your driveway in the sun to dry out.
Back over it with your SUV.
In lieu of the last step, try to sell it on ebay for parts.
