Glad to see someone else notices that. Too bad Hezbollah isn't stupid enough to step out from behind their meat shields and meet the IDF on open ground. They'd last about 2 hours, and then we could all get busy repairing the damage to Lebanon without masked idiots sniping at the relief workers.

Well, it's just that the mainstream media doesn't automatically report as factual everything a foreign government claims, even the Israeli government. They have repeatedly reported this assertion, but attributed it correctly, to Israeli government sources.
HRW found otherwise:
"The Israeli government claims that it targets only Hezbollah, and that fighters from the group are using civilians as human shields, thereby placing them at risk. Human Rights Watch found no cases in which Hezbollah deliberately used civilians as shields to protect them from retaliatory IDF attack. Hezbollah occasionally did store weapons in or near civilian homes and fighters placed rocket launchers within populated areas or near U.N. observers, which are serious violations of the laws of war because they violate the duty to take all feasible precautions to avoid civilian casualties. However, those cases do not justify the IDF’s extensive use of indiscriminate force which has cost so many civilian lives. In none of the cases of civilian deaths documented in this report is there evidence to suggest that Hezbollah forces or weapons were in or near the area that the IDF targeted during or just prior to the attack."
The rest of this report is at the link below.
Hezbollah is a terrorist group, and yes, they are committing atrocities, and by their actions, they are putting Lebanese civilians at risk. This is not the same as using human shields, however. They are committing other kinds of atrocities, such as using cluster munitions on the rockets they launch into Israel. Attacking civilians is morally wrong.
We should and do expect better of the Israeli Defense Forces. They are not a terrorist group, they are a legal organized national army, and therefore should not engage in terror tactics. When they do, they lower themselves to Hezbollah's level. That is what people are upset about in the so-called liberal media (although I'm not clear on how you so your way clear to labelling as "liberal" these multinational corporations with close ties to other business interests and government).

They were still innocent. The fact that they were being prevented by Hezbollah from leaving just makes Hezbollah more guilty than Israel. It doesn't make the civilians less innocent.
War is tragic. And the fact that civilian casualties are inevitable is the most tragic part of all.
And I wouldn't call Fox News liberal. They might take offense to that.

Sure human shields... yeah you are right... absolutely.... Those Lebanese people just trying to live their lives are being used by Hezbollah as human shields.... Or is it... Israel showing the fact that they don't value the lives of innocent men women and children of Arabic descent... using them as human target practice... hmmmm... you seem like a smart guy you decide....

The Jewish concept of "struggle" is a primitive notion reminiscent of the life of the hunter gatherer and the dangers of the open desert, where every stranger is considered a threat to be killed, captured, or at the very least, put to use for one's own purposes, being looked upon no differently than would an animal. In the stories of the Old Testament one finds innumerable examples of this struggle. We read, for instance, that
after the death of Moses, Joshua son of Nun wished to enter Palestine with his people. So he encamped around the city of Jericho and commanded the people to blow their horns. "As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people raised a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city. Then they utterly destroyed all in the city, both men and women, young and old, oxen, sheep, and asses, with the edge of the sword " (Joshua 6:20-21).
The notion of struggle has taken root over time in the hearts of the Jewish people, evolving into a mentality characterized by racial prejudice and social reclusiveness" . Moreover, in the ancient Jewish writings we find a type of religious literature referred to as "eschatological" writings, the literal meaning of this term being "description of the end". (The Greek term eschatologie is composed of two words, namely eschatos, meaning "the end", and logos, meaning speech, or description.) Such writings depict a particular end to which the world must inevitably come. And in all Jewish writings on this theme we find that the notion of struggle in associated with this inevitable end, while the final victory in the struggle is, inescapably and by the nature of things, Israel.
In the book attributed to the Old Testament prophet Ezekiel, we find numerous visions related to this unavoidable end, one which begins with the cleansing of Jewish society from all impurity. It is a purification which will take place through wars, siege and death and in which God pours out His wrath upon Jerusalem and its inhabitants: "A third part of you shall die of pestilence and be consumed with famine in the midst of you; a third part shall fall by the sword round about you; and a third part I [God] will scatter to all the winds and will unsheathe the sword after them" (Ezekiel 5:12). Once this purification has taken place, the chosen people - or what is left of them - will be worthy to enter the final battle in which they will win victory and dominion over the world

I am aware of it, but that doesn't change the fact that innocent lives were lost. And sadly, the media will do anything to make money, liberal or conservative.

They know it is, they just want to make the news story sound how they want it to be, not how it really is.
And most of the civilians know who the terrorist are, they know where the arms are, does that make them innocent or part of the war ?

all news groups, politicians, and companies are corrupt, naive, and ignore the real truth. they are not stupid and know better, they are showing the story in their own way so the reader/viewer sees things in their perspective. conservatives too, not just liberals, are responsible for this.
