Just came back from North Africa, and since Ive been back, more than one person has told me my personal body smell has changed. I remember eating a meal one day and I feel it may have been something to do with it. That was over a month ago now. Obviously some of the smell of our food comes through our skin like onions and garlic for instance, but how long can it last?
Its not a bad smell by the way, just VERY different from how it was.

You bunch of nobs... I told you I dont smell bad, just different, but my underlying smell is even different to my sense of smell. Someone said hormones, can that really effect you like that. And I have tried taking a shower but its not like Ive stepped in something...

A food smell would be out of your system by now.

Could be just changes in your hormones. It's not unusual for our bodies to change throughout time.

If it isn't causing a problem I wouldn't worry too much.

It seems a little strange that the smell has continued this long. A meal you ate a month ago should have little influence on your smell today. Could it be that North Africa was not really the cause but that it's something else that is going on now?

Foods can emit odors through your skin and so can vitamins and prescription medications. Anything that you ingest, smoke, or rub on your skin can cause a body odor. Have you changed anything else in your routine like using a new deodorant or soap or taking a new vitamin? Try writing down what you eat, drink, use throughout the day and look for anything that stands out as "new."

Anything you eat or drink does directly affect each human's personal scent. And each human can detect different scents on individuals. To smell sweeter, a person should eat more fruit and mild smelling veggies, such as carrots & celery. To smell stronger, yes garlic and onions would do it. I do believe meat, especially if strongly seasoned, can affect smell as well. If you want an answer, write down your previous diet (before the scent change) and your current diet (your diet after you noticed the change) and compare the two. You'll probably notice a definite change.

Your hormones have changed, and yes they can affect you like that. Hormones pretty much control almost all the chemidtry in your body, a minor change can mean a big difference. Go to a doctor and have them check you out if you are worried.

Maybe you're body's hormone level changed and it has nothing to do with where you've been. If it bothers you, ask a doctor what kinds of herbs and stuff you can take to clean your insides out and see if that helps.

The more water you drink, the more quickly your body will rid itself of the molecules causing the change in your body scent.
