I've never had one and never will but this is what I know: They do hurt somewhat. But don't worry, the baby will be in more pain then you will. I don't think it takes long. Once they stick the needle in the baby's brain and inject the stuff to kill it, it won't take long. They just have to wait for the baby to stop squirming while it suffocates and chokes to death. Then they have to take the baby out. After they throw it away in the trash, you should be good to go.
Sorry if that doesn't paint the prettiest picture, but murder is never picturesque.

I have read some of the answers that these heartless people have written. You don't need all of this mental abuse, as I know that this is a very difficult time for you. Please talk to someone who deals with this all the time, someone in the medical field, maybe a pastor or a good friend. You have alot on your plate, I also went through this at a younger age. I choose abortion....it is alittle painfull alot like bad cramps everyone is different. But I wish that I had made the other choose....I now have 2 beautiful grown children. It still bothers me to this day, I will never get over it mentally as this is the real pain. Honey I don't know your situation but think of maybe adoption or keeping the baby. There are many people who would give anything to be in your shoes, but again I'm not here to judge you. The abortion only takes minutes but it might take a lifetime to forget. I will pray for you Prisilla*

Yes, Yes, Yes. If you are pregnant, keep your baby. Think about the life you could have and the life you could not. If you are the type who remembers every wrong choice you have made and know that it could have a lifetime impact on you, make the best choice for how you could deal with it. A baby has many parts developing alone in the first month. the longer you wait, the more painful. Surgical is bad after about two months because the baby has certain body parts. It takes about 3-5 minutes to have an abortion. The hard part is the pain after it is done and a lifetime of possible regret.

The pain you experience although very mild will save you much pain in the future. You will be ok, and the mental impact is low by statistics. The procedure is safe, and you are saving your own future. Be brave and move forward. Average procedure time is about 15 minutes, although the RU-486 method takes much longer (abortion pill ) the standard "in office" procedure is fairly fast, you may experience some spotting for a few days, this will soon subside. If you plan to have a child when you are ready and it is planned, you have not reduced your chances of getting pregnant again. Yes I do work in the womens health care industry, and this is actual industry knowledge, but you have to make you own choice.

For what I've read and heard, yes they do hurt. I mean, they're scraping a baby off the mom's uterus! There's something that feels like cramping afterwards, but worse, b/c probably there's a wound in there. There's bleeding, and risk of scarring and infertility for the rest of your life. And also emotionally, I haven's seen anyone recover from that (it's not that I've seen many people do it though). They shouldn't take long. But women who do it are never the same again. It's really shocking and some can not live with their conscience anymore. (those "pro-choice" people apparently have never experienced it, I pray the will never have to).

There's some pain, they usually give you pain medication and general anesthesia. They take about 3-5 minutes unless your farther along then it's more of a major surgery. It's best if you don't have one. I did and I regret it. I have to live with this for the rest of my life. Think about adoption, give someone a chance to do what you can't. There are a lot of things doctor's don't tell you about abortion. I don't know any websites but if you do a search you should find some.

I never had an abortion but I did have a D&C after a miscarriage and I didn't experience any pain. But I have never experienced any pain when I was in labor either. So I think it all depends on your tolerance of pain.
And no one has a right to tell you what you should or should not do. Do what is right for you. Good Luck

well the abortion kills the baby no matter what other people say....i mean there is a baby in there....why else would you be trying to get rid of it? and if the abortion doesnt hurt physically it will most definitely hurt you mentally/psychologically during the long run....i will pray that you make the right choice....in christ....

abortions do not hurt- it kinda feels like a pap test- the actual procedure takes only a couple of minutes- the drs and nurses and very nice and not judgemental at all!! i only bled a little bit and had a few cramps after (like light menstrual cramps) think of an abortion as a "get out of jail free" card--- only have one in your life and learn your lessons!!!!! pregnancy and delivery hurts a lot more- so does raising a child that you are unsure of having-
