Stay the course - unless there is a good suggestion to alter the course to a more beneficial direction. I think the path in Iraq needs to be re-evaluated. I believe he has the right direction with the Lebanese war and dealing with terrorists organizations. Iran & Syria. 60 years of appeasement hasn't worked - maybe hard line diplomacy with coalition forces that will kick *** on terrorists might work.

I would say it is more important to admit when a policy isn't working and move on. Too many of our flawed, non-working national policies, foreign and domestic, are a product of the "stay the course" mentality.
How we handle illegal immigrants from Mexico and Cuba.
Drug Prohibition.
The so-called Middle East "Crisis".
Our policies on each of these subjects were set between 40 and 60 years ago. Somewhere along the line, a person with an ounce of sense says "Hey, I noticed that what we are doing isn't working. Maybe it's time we tried a different approach."
Our politicians, obviously, are not sensible people. It isn't that there aren't alternatives to the current policies; it is that we continue to ignore other possibilities, as though we HAD to be right all those years ago - we just haven't given the concept enough of a chance to work.
Arrogance is the deadliest of all sins.

Admit failure-something Bush is too pigheaded to do.
"stay the course" just means Bush has no plan, except to blame the potesters for the failure in Iraq, when they were right all along.
Now we can not only get out, with the Civil War we must stay to control the mess we made.
The Republicans can only give us more of the same. That's why Red states are turing Blue.Clean house and vote Dem for a change of course in Iraq.

The course the President has chosen is not a good one
It has divided this country and caused us to lose respect and creditability to the world. Its too late for the men and women that have already died in an unpopular and unconscionable war that was based in false intelligence and revenge..I'm not sure a change in direction would help but its worth a try.He doesn't vacillate he doesn't think ,he makes rash policy and then charges blindly ahead . I still respect the office of president but not the president in it . He scares the hell out of me and Cheney even more.
The only change of direction needed is to change the republican majority in congress and bring a little more balance to it .As of now there are no checks and balances at all ,only blind false patriotism and greed.

What do you think? You are in your car and you see the end of the road (think edge of Grand Canyon) might be a good time to apply thr brakes and think about turning either left or right. Making mistakes is part of life.

Stubbornness and stupidity can stay the course. It takes and intelligent and good man to admit his mistakes and do something about them. The current president seems to lack these characteristics.

That would depend on the course. If the course has been proven to be a bad choice, naturally he should drop it, and try something else.
If the chosen course is showing success, he would be foolish to drop it, and waste all that went into it up to that point.
