Just laying blame on yourself, or on others for that matter, is wrong.
Look at how much of a mishap is caused by your own action or thinking.
Don't feel guilty about something you did not do or cause.
If you made a mistake, recognize it as such. If you can correct it do so!
If not acknowledge it to yourself and resolve to avoid it in the future.
If others may be affected make sure to apologize and try to make up for it if that is possible.
Beyond that, always try to make the best out a situation and learn to avoid bad results by positive thinking.

No it isn't. This can lead to major bouts of depression. It's also not rational and not very kind to yourself. The real problem is that these 'tapes' will affect your self esteem and inhibit the way that you function. Replacing these 'tapes' with positive reinforcement can lead to a happier more self-confident person. Someone who is more self-confident is less likely to make mistakes and to overcome obstacles easier than someone who constantly blames them self.Constantly blaming yourself becomes a self - fulfilling prophecy that leads to depression and even suicide.

No, it isn't. Because:

1) Not everything is your fault.
2) It'll only usually lead to depression and you degrading yourself because you hate yourself.

The best thing to do is to know for sure whether it is your fault or not. If it isn't, for crying out loud, don't bother.

If it is in some way, learn from it. If you can do something to make amends, by all means, try. If not, just let it go and forgive yourself.

Too many people I know could do so much if they weren't so self-absorbed in their angst and pity. I hope you grow and glow.

Of course it isn't healthy, you'll wind up deppressed, stressed and feeling guilty about everything. How can that be good for you? Sometimes we are powerless in certain situations of our life and there's no one to blame, only maybe the circumstances.
