I'm going to a 'prom' soon and I want to wear a kimono, so I was just wondering whether somebody who knows what they're taking about could give me advice on what type would be suitable to wear, and also what shoes I could wear with it? Thanks.

Kimonos are fun to wear but getting them right so that they don't come undone half way through the night can be tricky. Check out the link and see if that is the sort of thing that you want.
Pretty kimonos can be picked up in many decent vintage clothing stores (well sometimes) or you could check out ebay for them. Traditionally slip on sandals are worn or you might be able to find those fab wooden elvated shoes but they are a trick to walk let alone dance in.
If you have longish hair it's not impossible to get Japanese style hair so go for the whole look make-up as well and you will stun them

PS - make sure that if you do wear it that you wrap it the correct way - right over the left side is used to wrap a corpse so make sure you do it left over right

Everyone wears heels to a prom so I think you should go in pink ones. You should wear a pink kimono with black flowers on it. That would look hot.

hmm.. shld wear a dress that highlights yr body curves ....It would make u look sexy n give u the confident ....but of coz ...u need to feel n be comfortable n relax..
For long dress/short dress .high heels are recommended ..but then if u r not comfortable then go for low heels ...
End of the day ....u shld be enjoying yrself n have a good time ...
