I'm going to Dominican Republic (Punta Cana), and I want to know the way to call my friend in Montreal from there. Should I use calling cards ? if so, which one?
Or should I be calling from the Hotel ?

Any suggestion would be great !!!!! :) Thank You!!!

The hotel should have calling cards or you can use your credit card in the pay phone. The only thing was I remember the didn't have to many pay phones in my resort. You can call from you room but they charge way too much a minute.

PLEASE do not do both. Do your self a opt for and visit Cabarete besides the very incontrovertible fact that you fly into Puerto Plata Airport. youthful sportsminded international crowd that performs troublesome in the course of the day and events all nighttime on the coastline on the diverse golf equipment. Cabarete is compared to at least one yet another city and city contained in the DR. all the seashores listed lower than are tremendous and we've thousands and that is all Punta Cana has going for it. in case you visit both Punta Cana or Puerto Plata and stay in a all inclusive you'll spend all a even as with uncultured fat vacationers who imagine smoking cigarettes is an occupation.

I'd recommend the MCI World Traveler phone card. Top of the line calling card -- no connection fee, maintenance fees or other taxes.

Get a local ComuniCard, available anywhere. It's the cheapest way, and the best sound quality. Most calling card companies use digital internet-based connections that provide very poor sound quality. But ComuniCard is from Verizon Dominicana, and when you connect through them, you use the traditional land line system, which as far more clarity.

Do not call from Hotel's phone. It will be VERY expensive.

The best solution is to get a calling card. For calls from Domenican Republic to Canada I would recommend AT&T calling card from StartDialing.com. You can buy it here

You can rent a World Cell Phone (see the link below). It might just be cheaper and you can call whenever you want. Definitely worth checking into.
