Citrus trees have been popular for hundreds of years. The lemon has been bred and cross bred into many varieties. It is a popular tree both for commercial and backyard uses.
Where it grows and when it blooms is very dependant on what breed of lemon you have. The link has a very good article about lemons and also identifies the different breeds. If you don't know what kind of lemon tree you have, maybe you can find it there.
;-D Luv that lemonade!

My Meyer Lemon blooms almost year around. Most profusely in spring, but I have buds, lemons and blooms almost year round. Of course I live in the Bay area (near San Francisco) and the climate is pretty warm year round.

In the spring like most other Citrus Trees. However, in warm states like California and Florida, sometimes they will bloom again in the fall and get a second crop of fruit.

In spring my relative has a lemon tree and it seems like the lemons never disappear even in the winter but they do fall down eventually.

Citrus trees in Florida bloom early in the year. Usually in February thru March. Then harvest in winter. That's why oranges are so plentiful during the winter months
