Do any of you girls have that condition? How common is it? It was on Grey's Anatomy which I saw bits of last night.

Yeah, that word the third poster used. The one that means "part of both sexes."

I did a paper on transgenderism for a class once. A percentage of transgendered people are born like this. They usually assign the sex of the baby to whichever gender is easier to make the genitals look like, and sometimes the child grows up feeling like the other gender.

Girls have two X chromosomes, and boys have one X and one Y. Hermaphrodites have two X chromosomes and one Y chromosome. It is very rare. Different people born with this condition can have different male and female features. Generally speaking, anyone with a Y chromosome is a male, but when the female features are more obvious, they get cosmetic surgery to reduce the male features.

If you are not talking about hermaphrodites at all, perhaps you are thinking of a woman with a displaced OVARY. Women (XX) do not have testicles, but it might be possible for a woman to have an ovary that is hanging down similar to a man's testicles. This hypothetical woman could then have surgery to put the ovary up where it belongs, basically the opposite procedure from a man having surgery to correct a testicle that has not descended.
