It was placed in its' position for many reasons. One is temperature control. The axis of the earth also gives us our seasons-there are so many precise measurements to earth's placement that it had to be by design.

Because there are two other planets between the sun and earth. That makes earth the 3rd planet.

Just as the sun's 3rd planet from the earth. As simple as that, nothing to explain.

Because if it were closer to the sun the planet would be too hot to sustain life. If it was further away from the sun it would be too cold to sustain life.
It's amazing that when that big ball of mud exploded in space to create all of us, it chose the third planet to develop life on, by accident of course.

because it's between the second and fourth ones.

Take five stones, and toss them in front of you with roughly the same force. Why does one of them become the third one? One of the nine has to be third. That's just common sense.

Massively coincidental that we *happen* to be just far enough away, but also close enough to the sun that conditions are right for life. But I'm not advocating a creationist viewpoint there.

Because if it were in any other position, then the earth would lack some elements.. therefore there wouldn't be life forms... so earth had to be the 3rd away from the sun.

Because of convention. You have to go back to the theory of numbers and all the conventions that in general today we all use but are not aware of.

Because that's the way the Great Creator created it.

Sure, because Mercury is the first and venus is the second one lol!

Sorry, I needed to say that. I think it is because of gravity.
