I have an iPod and so does my sister. We only have 1 computer. The iTunes doesnt seem to recognise the difference between the 2 iPods. Is there anyway to set it up so if i plug mine it, it loads my library only? We're getting sick of having to upload all our music on to iTunes each time then removing eachothers music. Ive tried the apple website but theres no info there.

The only thing you can do is share all of your music in one library. You have to put all of your music into one library, and therefore each of your iPods will have the exact same music when you update your iPod. I've tried to create more than one library, but it doesn't work. It's only possible to have two librarys if you have Windows, and you each have a separate log in name for the computer. Then, each login name will have iTunes, but they won't correspond with eachother, and you can have you own library.

IF you go into the edit menu in Itunes and select preferences you can change the setting to manually manage the songs on you ipod. It also gives you the option to name your ipod by clicking onto what it says in the left hand itunes menu when you connect your ipod. Your ipod then remembers this name and then will recognise that your ipods are indeed different. Pemember to select the ipod manage your own song setting though first!!

Each iPod has a different serial number, so iTunes should recognize them as different. Make sure their names are different as well. For example, if yours is named 'John', then have your sister name hers 'Johnny'. If this doesn't work, just call Apple support. Good luck!

initially when you first plug in the ipod into your computer, itunes asks you to name the ipod, obviously you named the 2 ipods the same name - there is your mistake... plug in one of them, unregister it, then reregister it with a different name... this should solve your problem

i think there is a option something like "show in source list" even when disconnected. Try turining that on........ and also , as stated above, rename your ipods to avoid confusion
