There are no "zones". Each major distributor purchases ownership of a particular beers "rights" to sell in a predetermined radius of that distributors location. If a bar wants a certain brand of beer, they must go to that distributor or go pretty far away to purchase elsewhere... that usually becomes cost prohibitive.

eg... a distributor in Williamsport PA paid Miller around $3 million for sole rights to sell Miller products in that area. Each bar may be utilizing several distributors to purchase beer from.
