I have a 6 year old who is just in love with Sonic the Hedgehog. We've found that 4kidstv.com has the best Sonic, as well as many other games to play for this age group. My 4 year old likes pbskids.com and also postopia.com has some pretty cool games. And if your kids are cereal eaters, like mine check out the inside of the Post cereal boxes, they have codes that you enter on the website and then you get more free game play. Have fun!

My son is three and he already loves the Internet. I can't tell if I think that's cute or horrifying, but it's a sign of the times.
Recently we have visited:
http://pbskids.org/ [ something for all ages, including things for parents ]
http://www.jigzone.com/
[ lots of cool jig saw puzzles, you can choose the degree of difficulty, great for logic/spatial thinking]
http://www.iknowthat.com [ has something for all levels/grades]
and finally:
http://www.uptoten.com/ [ again something for everyone]
Of course there are character related ones, Bob the Builder, Thomas the Train [ my son is a BIG fan of that one] and numerous others that I'm sure will be suggested to you somewhere down the line.
Also I was glad to hear you say " We" when talking about visiting sites, I believe, just like with television that if used in moderation and with parent participation the Internet can be beneficial rather than zombie producing.
Take care and have fun surfing with your kids!

almost five and they play on Nick.com, Nick Jr, PBS Kids, Noggin, Disney, they also go to Barbie.com and Bratzs.com
My kids are girls if you have boys try typing in a show or action figure or something else they like and see what you can find as well because Barbie, Bratz and My Little Pony sites have a few games.

I love this site because it mostly offers non violent games. Except for a couple of war games, the most violent ones have you swat spiders in a window, or roll snowballs at pengins.
AND, no software to download. If they have any ads, I haven't seen 'em.
