Do the speed limit. Most fuel economy and tire wear problems originate in the right hand.

Accelerate smoothly, keep you tires inflated to the proper pressure, keep your air filter clean.

Change the oil and add 2 onces of Z max per quart of oil. Z max will add 10% to fuel mileage, and your bike will run better too. Add some Zmax fuel treatment per the instructions to the gas tank, that will make the carbs work better. Put in some split fire spark plugs they make a better spark and improve the mileage and power. I've done this to all my bikes for 5 years now and it works great. You can feel the difference in the performance and use less gas too!

I'm a rider since 1972 and a vet of the body shop for 35 yrs so try it you'll like it a lot!

Shift gears sooner (don't over rev it).
Accelerate from a stop easier (you're not in a drag race).
