Many animals do (hippos, pigs, etc.) but it's not just to protect themselves from the sun. It's also to deter insects.

a pig rolls in mud because it is trying to keep cool. the mud will protect its body from insects and sunburn.

a piggy. also, i have seen horses and cows do it. a lot of animals do because the mud is a lot cooler then being outside. its like a pool for them haha
