Every time I put another memory stick in my compac pc I here a beeping sound and the screen stays black. Theres room for 3 sticks and I have 2 in there. Even if I take one out and replace it with my new one it still beeps and the screen stays black. my Q is. Is there somthing I need to do extra? I'm turning it off before I put the stick in.

Have you been carful to avoid static electricity.
If not that would kill your system.
Do any of the sticks work?
Try each stick one at a time.
if they don't work alone discard them.
From what you say though it sounds like your pc was working fine before you added the new stick.
Okay next try doing two sticks at once see which ones work and which don't/
You may want to look up parity vs non parity memory.
don't think they are compatible with each other.

put one at a time not 2. make sure you are running the right system.

If it is a constant "beeeep....beeeep...beeeep..." then the new stick you got might be bad since it only happens when you insert that stick.
