A great rpg game that is not online would be Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, it has orcs, dark elves, wood elves, and all those fantasy stuff with different armor and weapons, you can go into towns and kill people or adventure in the wild and fight animals or bandits.

Diablo 2 is a lot of fun. You can play on the battlenet, if you choose to, but it's fun to play without others players, too.
