Can they - yes. Will they give you that information - no. Privacy laws prevent them from being able to reveal information about any of their clients without a court order.

Lots of people, mainly young people and students, have had their Yahoo webmail accounts hacked. Their passwords and details have been changed so that when they try to contact Yahoo customer service, Yahoo treats them like total strangers. Sound familiar?
This can happen as a result of hacking with malicious intent, trojans and keyloggers because you do not have a firewall or your firewall has been disabled or improperly configured. A firewall is a MUST online. Just as some people must have coffee, a PC online needs a firewall. Your PC has 65,000 ports which, without a firewall, are all wide open 2-way doors to your softwares. Trojans and other nasty applications roam the Internet continuously searching for computers which are not protected. When they find them, they install their payloads then report back to their masters.
What can you do about your old Yahoo Webmail account? So many have been completely unable to do much of anything about it. The thing to do is to create a new account. Get a new account, be sure to have a firewall, change and protect your passwords. That's the easy way.
Some have done it the hard way. With patience and persistence you need to email Yahoo Customer Service repeatedly. Hopefully they will give you your account back. If they don't then use the easy way.
If your account details have been changed then simply re-apply for a new account, with new details too, if you wish. You can re-apply with Yahoo or go to any of many other free webmail account providers. You don't mind ads if you have used Yahoo before. Most of the other free webmails are no different.
The above information is from the site I listed. It says that you need to have a firewall if you don't have one. Secondly, they offer a free one or your ISP usually comes with their own free version. Also, it says that you can create a new one and continue contacting yahoo to try to get your account back. Read the site for all the tips. Good luck.

Possibly, but a good hacker leaves no trace. Most likely they will be used a masked IP so your better off notifying yahoo and having you acc info tansferred, and change any personal information that may have been compromised.
