I'd like to publish an educational book which is based upon the lyrics of well-known songs. The book would need to include a CD of original versions of all these songs.
All I need to know is a vague idea of cost to see if the idea is finacially viable.

You will need to check with these people: http://www.mcps-prs-alliance.co.uk/aboutcopyright/ if you are in the UK or there equivalent in the country you intend to publish.

It depend upon the cost of buying songs.... Otherwise a CD costs US $ 0.25 & Book Publishing another US $ 0.25 in any part of the world.???

I don't know exactly how much it would cost, but it could be very very expensive to license those songs for use from their copyright owners, like in the hundreds of thousands of dollars. Especially if you have them on CD.
