Hey! Listen without doubt "Norton Antivirus is the best antivirus software money can buy". If you talk about free antivirus softwares, there can be two types- one which u can run directly via the net or one which u can download legally for free! (freeware that is). The best free antivirus software then is Avast Antivirus Home Edition. It's even got a real time scanner.
If you dont fear piracy and think piracy is cool, and dont want to waste your money on lots of 0s n 1s, you can download the pirated version of Norton Antivirus 2006 along with 3 year supscription wit ha torrent file named 'nav2006.iso.torrent' from the website 'www.thepiratebay.org'. But of course, you need a torrent client, for which I would prefer azureus.

Well most probably everyone will say AVG. And most probably they are right.You can download it from http://www.grisoft.com/doc/10/lng/us/tpl/tpl01

But remember only the anti-virus is free. If you want the firewall then you'll either have to download the shareware (trial) version or buy one.

So if you are going for the shareware version, there is a better alternative to AVG. And that's "Kaspersky Internet Security". It's available as a trial version (for 30 days) at

http://www.kaspersky.com/trials.

Personally I prefer Kaspersky. But 'AVG Antivirus' is free even though the Firewall isnt'.

must be AVG you can download it from the Gri-soft website, there is a version on that site that you pay for but if you look you'll also see the free one and it is fantastic, I've been usuing it for a few years now, am always on the internet and I never never have problems with my pc, just be sure to update it every day though, it only takes a moment. Oh and I also use spyware doctor, that costs just under £20.00 a year and is well worth it.

AVG free, its probably the best virus protection software available, updates and warnings are also free. As opposed to Norton or Mcafee that charge for the initial program and updates.

AdAware is a good one. Alot of people say AVG is good, but I have had the best experience with SpywareDoctor. I suggest using both though. All programs have different things they will find, so best to use both.

AVG from Grisoft. AdWare,spy-catcher and windows defender are not anti-virus software. they should run along side anti-virus software.

try to use a sharing software .. like ARES .. go to google search for ares .. download it and use it to search antivirus ..norton is a good antivirus .. it can remove both viruses and spwares/adwares /.. so have fun .. you can download a lot more via ares .. i think its the best sharing software
