I totally agree with you.... years ago the democratic party was the party of the people, the working class/ blue collar people who loved their country and would fight for it - not against it...somewhere along the way the liberals took it over and twisted what it had once stood for... my parents were democrats at one time... now.. they would never belong to a party that hates religion/ God/ disrespects the president( disagreement is one thing-total disrespect is another) our armed forces and our country.....and neither would I.....

The answer is very simple: The Reagan Democrats understand how
much of a mistake they made. They were wrong. Reagan was actively
bad for this country.

Virtually all of the acts associated with him were later over turned,
he ran the highest deficit in years, etc, etc... His only credible defense for the
illegal activities of "Iran-Contra" were that he forgot. The only reason
that this is credible is for the disease he was probably beginning to see
symptoms of.

However, he spoke well and made people feel good about themselves.

HE WAS AN ACTOR. He could sell snow to an eskimo. Wait, that
isn't so funny any more.

Before anybody starts saying that Reagan defeated the communists,
please remember that the communists basically ran out of money.
That is, they couldn't continue to feed the people and prepare for
a war against the US. The only thing that Reagan did was perpetuate
what all of the Presidents before him did since Truman.

Do not compare what Bush is doing with what JFK did. The Soviet Union
made decisions as a block, where as terrorists have no set infrastructure
that you can blockade, etc. The same tactics cannot work.

Bush, having all of the advice a guy could possibly want, should
understand that. Having lived it for the last 4 years, he should certainly
understand it by now.

Nobody wants to say that Reagan was a bad for this country because
of the unfortunate way he died. I wouldn't wish that death on anyone.
However, had he not died, he we would be suffering from the same
political aspersions as the rest of the Reagan Republicans.

The Democrats do NOT support Fidel Catro.Where'd the heck you get that one? I think the question is how far will the Republicans sink BECAUSE the American voters have said "Enough is Enough".The "180" you mention is right-wing propaganda most people dont care to absorb.

The Democratic Party has been smeared by the Republicans as something terrible it is not.And now Red States are turning Blue.
People are getting sick of the content-free Republican Agenda, and the FACT that the Republicans cater to the biggest collection of fringe groups of all time:Gun nuts, the christian coalition, gaybashers, and hostile, parasidic trash most people wont sit next to on a bus.

The Regan Democrats and moderate Democrats are still out
there. That's why theDemocrats are poised to regain the Senate.Yes,Cindy Sheehan asked Bush hard questions that he was too cowardly to answer, and Michael Moore showed the coffins the Republicans did NOT want the public to see,and the shift leftward toward the center is beginning.

The same thing that happened to the Goldwater republicans that believed in small government. They started needing more and more money to win the advertising war that our elections have become, so they ALL pander to the special interests that actually have the money and influence to put them in power. It doesn't matter what they say anymore, they are still gonna sell you out once they are elected because the American people as a whole respond more to what they say in commercials than to what they actually do in the halls of congress.

Why when I turn on C-Span is it one representative talking to an empty room? Could it be because they already know how they are going to vote before the issue is even discussed?

The old Democratic social gathering nonetheless exists interior the South. Northern Neo-Socialist ingenious Liberals offered the social gathering lock, inventory and barrel. Communist money is now investment the Democratic social gathering in simple terms ask George Soros. money talks and all Democrats toe the line or this isn't any money for them! this is like the old time mafia, team spirit or dying. that's the present Democratic social gathering. And the social gathering line has no longer something to do with whats sturdy for usa. in basic terms whats sturdy for the Democrats.

yes, they would put Clinton in office. Twice. And he had a very high job approval rating when he left office, no matter how hard the repubs tried to tarnish his image. And whatever happened to the Goldwater conservatives? The ones that are now considered left of center? Perhaps the conservatives are moving the lines to the right, and democrats feel as they always have...
