Ok I really know this all sounds kinda weird as a question and all but what is 500 yards in swimming? Like how many lenghths would that be?

20, if you're swimming in a 25 yard pool. That's also 10 laps.

in high school swimming the 500 yard race is almost always the longest race of the meet. while there are a few kids that specialize in the long distance races, the 500 has become synonymous with getting shafted by the coach on some teams. it covers 20 lengths, and requires the swimmer to have a lap counter at the far end of the pool.

500 yds is 20 lengths, 10 laps (there and back) in a 25 yd pool

im 14 and during a meet it took me around 7 minutes to swim, it isnt that much

Gesh, it depends on how long the pool is!!!!

Divide 500 by the length of the pool in yards.

if it is a 25m pool then it is 20 lengths
if it is a 50m pool then 10 lengths
