I'm asking for a list of objects or things. Please don't say people, that's not the kind of answer I'm looking for. I'll start.

Coal
Onyx
Oil
Tar

Kinda get the drift? I'm looking to plump up the book I'm writing with descriptives, and I need more words to describe black.

The absence of light. Deep space, back side of the moon. Just a little different frame of thinking... ??

What is this black object that you are describing? It makes a difference in the kind of words that you can use to describe it. I hate it when I'm reading a book and the author has used the same words through the whole story to describe something or refer to a thing/person.
