A conartist is a smooth talking male (or female) who usually is so full of themselves (or arrogant). A conartist will normally get you to do things for them that they know will get them into trouble, and instead get you into trouble for doing it for them. Some conartists will tell you they will do something and not do it, or say they can do the job, but cannot even do the first thing right.

Similar to Con man - shortened from confidence man. They would first gain your trust (or confidence) and then take advantage of you by selling you something worthless that he promised to work miracles, or like the scammers who tell you you've won the lottery and then gain your trust by sending you a $10,000 check and then tell you to wire back $2500 for "taxes".
Con artist have been around forever.

take it you mean con artist someone who will sell you something that is fake but make you believe its the real thing or dupe you into something that is false though you believe it to be true for example selling you a fake rolex watch or whoever wrote the bible
