who says so? not eveyone of course.
there are a lot of people who believe in God. some gods may have different names but they are still almost one and the same: a higher being, which we can all call God.
why are you asking this? don't you believe in God anymore? or are you just disheartened by the fact that the people you meet or know or see more frequently don't really believe in God?
If it's the latter, then don't feel bad, you are not alone. there are many who are beginning to be disheartened by this fact too and it makes them pessimists just because they begin to believe there must be no God if everything in this world is going bad. But it doesn't always have to be that way. It's how you live your life and how you choose to look at the brighter side of things that you'd truly appreciate your life and having God around.
But if you don't believe in God anymore... then why do you think you're still here, alive and well? It's just that more people tend to put the blame on God when they're so down or low that it makes atheists out of them even though there is proof to this God which they just closed their eyes to.
Don't fret. As i said, not everyone is a non-believer of God. There will always be believers in God. There are many of us who believe in Him and the life His Son led and how we could all be with Him through His Son.
God is merciful. It is only us humans, who in our humanity experience and impose self-punishment when we know we do not deserve to be forgiven or loved by God, that we choose to think that God is not there for us anymore. But I heard... and read, and know, that His mercy is plentiful and that if we all repent from our sins, which is not always easy to do, we shall be redeemed.

There is no convincing evidence that gods exist. There is much evidence that tales about them are wrong. Do you believe in Brahma, Allah, Tien Ti, Zeus, Odin, Amon-Ra, Marduk and other such deities? Moses seemed to, but he made the Sinai Covenant to worship Yahweh above all other gods. While he was getting the Ten Commandments, Hebrews reverted to worship of the Egyptian calf god Apis. Only someone pitifully ignorant of Science can believe in Genesis' pair of creation myths, Noah's Flood, etc., etc. The Bible has contradictions listed in a book Billy Graham gave me and in my college textbook for Bible History.

Not everyone believes in God. God gave everyone a freewill to choose if they want to believe that God exist. As written in the bible, people would soon turn away from God. This is what is esactly happening in today's world. There are too many different religions in this world as well. People choose to believe God when they know and see it with their eyes. Then again, God gave us freewill. He doesn't want us to be robots :P

because the people who believe in God are clearly not better or worse people than everybody else. So what difference does it make? Some of the nicest people I know are atheists.

Why doesn't everyone believe in the flying spaghetti monster? People can believe what they want to believe. Just because YOU think it's a good idea, doesn't mean everyone else does.

God has given man free will, and with the free will, you are free to choose whether to believe in Him or not. It is hard to imagine not believing.

You may believe in God because you are told to. You may believe in God because that helps to explain things in life and around you. Or, you may believe in God because there is one true God. You may choose to believe there is not a God. The choice is yours. I respect your choice, respect mine please.
