Let Blacks make up their own double agents. Bond is a white Brittish secret agent. The CIA agent is black.

I think the next James Bond should be black after all James Bond films cant get any worse they have become boring and repetative u never know it might bring back some more viewers.
I know people have said that Will Smith and Samuel L Jackson would be good for the role of Bond and I have to agree with them they probably would but what u have to remember is that James Bond is British so why not that guy from spooks Adrian Lester.
But in my own honest opinion I think that a black guy playing James Bond would make a refreshing change from the like of: -
Sean Connery
Roger Moore
George Lazanby
Timothy Dalton
Pierce Brosnan
Daniel Craig
which of course are all white men and they played the parts brilliantly. But, we need to come to the modern age; where age, gender, or colour shouldn't be a problem.

I think they shouldn't make another Bond film. I think 21 is enough. Yes it's 21. Not 20. Why the heck does everyone keep saying there are only 20? I own all of them and I count 21. I guess they don't like Never Say Never Again. It was a Warner Bros. Bond Film and I guess MGM wants everyone to ignore it. My favorite Bond Films are Never Say Never Again, Octopussy, The World is not Enough, Tomorrow Never Dies, Live and Let Die, and Die Another Day. Should Bond be black? No! Because they shouldn't make anymore Bond films!! They have made very great films and making anymore would just be redundant. How many more gadgets can they have him use? Not that many. How many places are left for him to go? All most none. How many more women are there for him to screw? Well, a lot but you get the idea!

Not really, not because of any racit reasons, but just because the character is definitively English and white. This character comes from an England long gone and the updates for the modern James Bond still reflect in part the Englishness of the character if not the periods in which the original stories were supposed to take place. Black doesn't come into the equation.

If there were a good black actor who could capture Bond's toughness and suaveness, then sure. Colin Salmon was said to be in the running. I've not seen him in much but he's certainly more handsome than Craig - and British, unlike P Diddy.
But kutekimmy, it has not been established that 'James Bond' is an identity used by successive agents. Remember that in 'For Your Eyes Only' Roger Moore's Bond mourned the wife George Lazenby's Bond married, and Sean Connery's Bond was seen avenging her in 'Diamonds are Forever'. Why would they do that if they were different people?

Well they kinda tried to do a black James Bond with 'Action Jackson' in 1988
http://imdb.com/title/tt0094612/
but that didn't do very well. Ian Flemings original character was a white man, so from the literal sense its impossible for James Bond to be black. But some people may suggest that the character has outgrown its Fleming roots, and as such can be portrayed by a black man.
In whatever case i'd ask that the best person get the job, regardless of race.

They like to play around with race and gender in the classics (Shakespeare and all that stuff) but I think looks too much like the film makers are trying to be clever when they do it with characters like Bond, Superman or Donald Duck.
A black Bondish character would be great but I'd suggest using someone like Colin Salmon who fits the bill perfectly and not some mouthy yank. The Americans can create their own characters.
Now, a white John Shaft would be superb.

don;t see why not..but Puff Diddy Do Da is not right for the role...it would need a good actor, not just a blinger. Will Smith would be awesome, so would Samuel L Jackson, Jamie Foxx would be good too

you could not have a black James Bond because of fact the character is a white guy. it may require a finished reboot of the sequence to stay away from it being thoroughly uncanonical, regardless of if it may now not be James Bond.

Sure, why not? They have already established that the name "James Bond" is just a code name that passes on to new agents, like "M" that moved on to a woman, and "Q" that passed to John Cleese.
But P Diddy? No way. Bond is British.
